Overview

The Faculty of Automotive Skills Education came into existence in 2017, with a mission to impart knowledge, technical skills & hands-on training in automobiles, focusing on four wheelers & three wheelers, both petrol & diesel, and two wheelers. We will soon be launching new courses in repair and maintenance of heavy vehicles, tractors and agricultural implements.

The program is designed to introduce the students to the operation of today’s complex vehicles by giving them a comprehensive understanding from basic to advance, of various automotive systems like transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, Electrical & Electronics, and Engine Performance, etc. Students under this program will acquire the necessary skills to diagnose and repair mechanical and computer controlled electronic systems on the latest models of automobiles.

The Indian auto industry is one of the largest in the world. According to Indian Brand Equity Foundation, the industry accounts for 7.1 per cent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). With such a huge market comes the requirement of skilled people for after sales service of automobiles where trained manpower is required. The Faculty will create a new benchmark in skill development in the Automotive Industry by developing a work force that will be an ideal blend of technical skills and managerial expertise.

The training is based on the Swiss Dual System, which lays greater emphasis on practical training to make the trained students industry ready on completion of their training. The Faculty has well equipped laboratories, well stocked library and qualified and experienced faculty and trainers to achieve our stated aim. Presence of highly skilled and vertically specialised Swiss Trainers in the Faculty, further help in enhancing the professional competence of the students.

A very active Placement Cell in the University, helps in placing all the students in relevant industries for their internships in alternate semesters, for further enhancing their practical skills.

The Faculty continuously strives to keep abreast with the latest equipment fit in the industry to modify and amend the curriculum so that our students remain updated and skilled in their respective fields.

Objective

The program under the Faculty of Automotive Skills Education are designed to:

  • To attain new skills which allow you to work in a high-tech work environment with long-term job security, and provide you with competitive wages and benefits
  • To create an end-to-end implementation frame-work for skill development in automobile sector, providing opportunities for quality long and short-term skill training, by providing gainful employment and ensuring career progression that meets the aspirations of trainees.
  • To establish cross sectoral, nationally and internationally accepted standards for skill training in the country by creating a comprehensive program of teaching and training.
  • To ensure high quality options for long term training, benchmarked to internationally accepted qualification standards, which will ultimately help to create a highly skilled work-force for the automobile sector.
  • To develop and retain a network of highly qualified teachers & trainers in the automotive sector.
  • To develop the Faculty as a Centre of Excellence in skill development for Automotive Skills.
  • To deals more with application based studies rather than focusing on only theoritical knowledge.

  • During last three years the School has a record of providing and facilitating students with 100% Internship-placement with a good stipend amount paid to them on monthly basis.
  • The Faculty ensures best training with its training partners including service stations of Jaguar Landrover, Maruti, Honda, John Bean, Blue-Point and others.
  • The Faculty ensures upgradation of skills and its syllabus with its industry partners through an MoU with companies like, Axalta Coating Systems, Automotive Skill Development Council, Hero Motocorp., Fleeca India Pvt. Ltd., Studio34, Maruti Care Centre etc.
  • The Faculty has a Centre of Excellence for Two-Wheeler Training in collaboration with Hero Motocorp.
  • Working in automotive industry as an automotive technician means having endless opportunities to intrect with customers solve problems and keep families and thier vehicle safe.

The Faculty has also generated tremendous momentum for advancement on an accelerated path. There are no short-cuts to excellence - it is the collective effort of faculty, trainers, students and our partners that will get us closer to achieving our dream.     The School had successfully conducted MPS international School students training on Automotive Skills from 9th December, 13th December, 23rd December and 26th December 2022.

    The school had successfully conducted Expert Session on BS-VI by Mr. Vinod kr. Dwivedi, ASDC on 16th December 2022. Mr. Vinod Ji gave an in-depth knowledge about the BS-VI Technology aspects used in Petrol and Diesel Engine Vehicles. Along with the session various doubts were answered from the domain of Automotive Service.
